Simple Chat Not Respecting "Show Usernames" Checkbox
I wasn't sure if this should be labeled a bug or a feature request, as it's something that is "normal" in Official, but doesn't operate as one would expect, and has been corrected in at least one other TPV.
Enable "Simple Chat."
Under general preferences, enable only usernames. You will see:
[12:54] Inhandra Birdsong: aaaa
Enable display names and user names, you will see:
[12:54] Inhandra Kindle (inhandra.birdsong): aaaaa
Disable "usernames" so only display names should show:
[12:54] Inhandra Kindle (inhandra.birdsong): aaaa
Usernames continuing to persist here is an unexpected behavior due to the fact disabling username viewing for "normal"/default AND console/irssi chat actually will hide the username, but not for simplechat. In the aforementioned TPV, the username was added to the "Learn more about this resident" hovertip for a resident's clickable name and would be a suggestion in helping improve simplechat.
(Edited to stop a weird hotlinking for the chat examples.)

Should be resolved in latest releases.
A friend who I convinced to try Exodus recently also just reminded me that using emotes in chat windows always results in the username being displayed, rather than the display.
