Build process hangs on llf32ctrl.o on Ubuntu Linux 12.04 (32-bit)

After fixing Makefile and library issues, on a stock install of Ubuntu Linux 12.04 (32-bit), I've only ever gotten the build process up to llf32ctrl.o, at which point the system hangs indefinitely – memory and CPU usage skyrockets.

I'd also like to know what platform is being used currently to successfully build the viewer for Linux.

If you're compiling the latest source, you may want to give it another try. Geenz was in the process of merging 3.4.0, and ran into a few conflicts.
